Chefs for Habitat: A Culinary Celebration

Saturday, September 19, 2015 5:30-10:00 pm Dove Pointe

Chefs for Habitat: A Culinary Celebration is a fabulous party that raises money to build a home for a deserving low income family. Our Chef’s committee has created a magical evening of fine food and festivities for Habitat’s sixth annual signature fundraising event. The event will feature tastings of the signature dishes of some of Delmarva’s most talented chefs, live and silent auctions featuring exclusive get-a-way trips, dinner parties, original works of art as well as an exciting Waiter’s Race!

The event will raise money to build a home at 425 Coles Circle for Habitat’s Family Partner Family, Melissa Bailey and her four children. Melissa Bailey has been volunteering on other Habitat Partner Family homes for the last 2 years and is very excited for construction to begin on her home. When the house is finished, Melissa Bailey will assume a 30 year, no interest mortgage from Habitat. The money Habitat raises in mortgages is invested in building more homes for new Habitat family partners. For further information, or to purchase ticket reservations, visit www.chefsforhabitat.com or call 410-546-1551.

About Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County

As a Christian housing ministry, Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people of all faiths to make ownership of decent, affordable homes a matter of conscience and action.

Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County was founded in 1987; since then, the affiliate has built 60 homes locally. Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent homes with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments come back to the affiliate to help build more homes for more families.
