Another award can be added to Comcast Spotlight’s collection of production honors for the Southern Delaware team. Robert Owens of Comcast Spotlight won a Telly Award for production creativity in the Commercial category (under $1000) in the 36th Annual Telly Awards announced May 2015. Owens, a fourteen-year veteran in Comcast Spotlight’s Ocean City, Maryland office, produced the winning spot for Market Street Inn in Salisbury, Maryland. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents, this year’s Telly Awards has been one of the most successful and competitive in the long history of the Telly Awards and this is truly a great accomplishment.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. For over a quarter century, the Telly statuette has been a symbol of creative excellence.
For its 36th season, The Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People’s Telly Awards. In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council, the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People’s Telly Awards winners.
A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other – rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit.
“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. “Comcast Spotlight’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”
“Comcast Spotlight is very proud of the creative work of Rob and our entire production team. Our goal is to produce creative and effective commercials that achieve results for our clients, said Sue Dalton, Comcast Spotlight General Sales Manager, of the Salisbury market.
Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, helps put the power of Cable TV and Online to use for local, regional and national advertisers. Comcast Spotlight has a presence in nearly 80 markets with approximately 33 million owned and represented homes.
